# OpenClaw Documentation Skill

## Overview

This skill provides quick access to OpenClaw configuration patterns, CLI commands, and setup documentation from the codebase. Use this when you need to look up specific config options, understand how to configure channels, set up the gateway, or troubleshoot common issues.

## Quick Reference

### Configuration Patterns

OpenClaw config lives at `~/.openclaw/config.json` and can be managed via:

- `openclaw config get <path>` - Get a config value
- `openclaw config set <path> <value>` - Set a config value
- `openclaw config unset <path>` - Remove a config value
- `openclaw config` - Interactive wizard

Common config paths are documented in `references/config-guide.md`.

### CLI Commands

Core commands:

- `openclaw agent` - Run agent turns (local or via gateway)
- `openclaw gateway` - Gateway management
- `openclaw channels` - Channel status and management
- `openclaw skills` - Skill management
- `openclaw login` - Provider authentication

### Gateway Setup

The gateway can run in different modes:

- Local mode: `gateway.mode=local`
- Remote mode: requires gateway URL configuration

### Channels

OpenClaw supports multiple messaging channels (Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, Signal, iMessage, etc.). Channel-specific setup is documented in `docs/channels/` in the repo. See `references/channels-guide.md` for channel configuration patterns.
